The Founder Showcase, by TheFunded.com, is an open startup pitch and networking event that highlights seed stage businesses, helping founders gain traction among the Silicon Valley elite. On Thursday, January 14th, ten companies elected by over 13,000 registered Members of TheFunded.com will present to an audience of over 200 investors, founders, and members of the press. A panel of experts will critique the pitches, and an open ballot of those in attendance will determine the Founder Showcase Winner - will win a number of prizes, including $2500 in cash, $1000 in free legal services from Cooley Godward Kronish LLP, and a free two-day rental of a Ferrari 360 Spider.

Showcase guests will be treated to food and drinks, as well as informative talks by two leading Silicon Valley CEOs – Philip Kaplan of Blippy, and Jay Jamison of Moonshoot. There is also a networking and Pitch Table area for startups, service providers, and investors to convene. Previous investors that have attended include JAFCO, Leapfrog, Polaris, Omidyar, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, First Round, Blue Run, and various angels.

Philip Kaplan
Philip oversees Blippy’s product management and innovation. Prior to founding Blippy, Philip founded several businesses including PK Interactive, a software company that developed Web-based applications for Fortune 500 clients including Toyota and Mead Paper. Philip’s personal sites have earned accolades including Yahoo and Rolling Stone’s Site-of-the-Year, and #6 in TIME Magazine’s “Best of 2000.” Philip is a regular public speaker and is the bestselling author of F’d Companies (Simon & Schuster). He is on the board of the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University. Prior to Moonshoot, Jay worked at Microsoft for nearly 10 years. He worked on both Windows Server in product management, and he spent 3 years working for Microsoft Japan, turning around the Windows Client business group. Jay achieved multiple gold star awards, a high lifetime average review score, and was a member of Steve Ballmer's inaugural "Bench" Class of 2004, aimed at developing future leaders in MSFT. Agenda:
Any seed or early-stage company less than 2 years old and with less than $500k in funding is invited to apply to the Founder Showcase Contest.
First, reserve a ticket to the Founder Showcase event above. The 10 presenting companies will be reimbursed for their purchased tickets – the Founder Showcase does not charge entrepreneurs to present to investors!
Second, create your company Pitch on the Showcase section of TheFunded.com. If you are not yet a member of TheFunded, please apply here, and be sure to mention the Founder Showcase prominently in your application. The sooner you apply, the more time you have to gather votes.
Third, collect as many votes as possible on TheFunded.com by the voting deadline of Sunday, Jan 10th at 11:59pm PT. Get the word out and gather votes - send people to TheFunded.com's Showcase section, and use the hashtag #foundershowcase in your posts. On Monday, Jan 11th, the 10 top companies to present at the event will be announced.
The 10 finalists will receive:
